The Trisuli is a great river, relatively close to Kathmandu. It’s perfect for anyone wanting to get a taste of whitewater rafting in Nepal, and combine this with our awesome canyoning day trip and a night at our Camp, and you’ve got yourself on fantastic weekend.
This trip is perfect for those who are looking to travel in between Kathmandu and Pokhara, or just looking for a weekend escape from the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu city.
Check out the detailed itinerary below.
1 night 2 days
GRG Office, Thamel, Kathmandu at 6.30am daily
To: Gurung Valley, Buttar
Volume in November : 400cms (1400 cfs)
September – June
We will depart early (6.30am) in the morning from Kathmandu and drive to our put in point at Charuardi on the Trisuli river. You will then have time for a few snacks and coffee whilst the crew set up the equipment. We will then provide you with a helmet, life jacket and paddle and your guide will give you a safety briefing of what to expect over the next few hours.
After a quick practice run in the flats, we’re off. You can expect some big bouncy rapids on the way down, lots of time for swimming and playing games and if your daring enough a great cliff jump.
We will stop half way down the river on a nice sandy beach to have spot of lunch. Sit back and enjoy the sun whilst your guides rustle you up a treat!
It’s then back in the raft for the biggest series of rapids of the day. Enjoy ‘Ladies Delight’, ‘Monsoon’, ‘Landslide’ and get ready for the big ones… ‘Upset 1’ and ‘Upset 2’. After this, it’s a gentle float down to our camp. Stopping off for a quick 10m cliff jump for those who are brave enough.
Once we reach camp, the tents are already set up with your bags inside and its time to chill out along the river bank, enjoy a tasty BBQ, camp fire and see how many shooting stars you can count.
We’ve recently built a swimming pool at our camp as well, so why not enjoy a cool beer and a dip whilst you watch the sun go down.
